This position involves deploying and supporting enterprise-level solutions the company uses to monitor systems, and applications both in on-prem data centers and the AWS Cloud Environment. The successful candidate will develop and implement infrastructure and application observability solutions to monitor mission critical applications. This role will work closely with IT technical areas and process owners to gather requirements to develop new monitoring solutions and introduce observability best practices. Monitoring Engineer Responsibilities + Applying, testing and implementing software product upgrades and patches + Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements + Utilize monitoring tools and ITSM tool set to analyze detected monitoring gaps and major incident occurrences. + Maintain and update existing scripts used to monitor system and applications on Unix and Windows servers. + Develop custom monitoring solutions utilizing network, server, application performance and log analytics tools along with necessary custom scripts to meet current and future requirements. + Advise and mentor coworkers on monitoring solutions and tool integrations. + Familiarize oneself with Delta’s Mission Critical and Mission Vital applications and their functionality, purpose and impact/dependencies with other applications and systems. + Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement monitoring solutions that align with business needs. + Responsible for researching and analyzing monitoring related data (events, alerts, traps, incidents, logging) to identify trends and gaps, produce reports, and/or make recommendations. + Assist with problem management process for incidents causing impact to the business. AWS CloudWatch, Lambda, Systems Manager. + Demonstratable troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills. + Good communication and collaboration skills. + Reporting and Dashboard skills using Grafana or Power Bi to present telemetry data. + Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. + Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. + Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. + Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
