We are looking for a Data Officer who would beis responsible for providing assistance and support to the Head of Data Governance, focusing on records management and acting as the deputy data protection officer you will maintain and update all documents as required, undertake the drafting of reports, conduct research into privacy related matters and undertake projects as required. Acting as the deputy data protection officer you will be required to fill in during the periods when the HoDG/DPO is not available. A focus on data records management and particularly retention and destruction.
Responsibilities
To support, assist and deputise for the Head of Data Governance/Data Protection Officer and ideally be qualified or working towards the relevant qualifications in this area
Oversee the management of electronic/paper based information and ensure filing systems are fit for purpose and maintained
Maintain document retention and disposal activity across the data lifecycle
Draft reports, carry out research, and maintain the document framework for data privacy
Undertake project work as required
Liaise with various departments and build relationships with key stakeholders including coordinating the network of data stewards
Promote Data Privacy Culture within the business and assist in the compliance of relevant regulations and legislation
Job requirements
Educated to A-Level or degree standard
Qualified or working towards relevant data privacy qualification
Experienced in records management and coordinating corporate documentation in an international business
Experience in Data Privacy/Records management
Communicate to a broad audience
Ability to create and understand complex reports
Membership of a Privacy or Records management organisation (desirable)
