Supply Manager Tools & Equipment Line - Supply Chain

As a Supply Manager for Rio Grande, one of the world's largest jewelry manufacturers and distributors, you will manage the supplier base for Rio Grande's findings line. You will ensure effective sourcing to bring new products to market, negotiate minimum orders and costs of existing products, and provide financial data. In this position you will partner with cross functional departments including Purchasing, Planning, Accounts Payable, Receiving, Returns, Repairs, Manufacturing, and Merchandising Management.

What You'll Do:

  • The Supply Manager is responsible for effectively managing the product line to achieve and maintain company goals for fill rate and inventory turns.
  • Negotiate product costs and minimums with supplier.
  • Identify and execute appropriate exit strategies.
  • Assess Suppliers' capability to meet forecasted needs.
  • Ensure item selection and product quality is consistent with our brand.
  • Develop/maintain good vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with our merchandising department and execute product presentation/packaging strategies.
  • Manage vendor relationships through Supplier Partnership Program, Supply Agreements, and Site Visits/Supplier Assessments.
  • Oversee the sourcing, quality, cost, new item set-up and operational impact of incoming inventory.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure efficient and cost-effective outcomes regarding the purchasing and receipt of goods.
  • Collaborate with operational teams (receiving, packaging, returns, sales, and technical support) to develop agreements, processes and quality standards for the handling of products.
  • Analyze purchasing reports to identify opportunities for cost reductions and operational cost containment.
  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve better cost structures and work with internal stakeholders to reduce cost of handling products.
  • Source products according to the specifications of the Merchandising Manager.
  • Serve Rio Grande's customers who request special orders.
What You'll Need:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field. Equivalent supply management work experience may also be considered.
  • A CPIM or CSCP (APICS certification) and/or CPSM (ISM certification) is desired.
  • 1 year of experience in supply management or purchasing, including experience leading negotiations, financial evaluation, and vendor-evaluations, including site visits (travel is required for this role).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with vendors and outside representatives.
  • Strong Excel and Math Skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
