The **Health and Safety Manager** assesses organizational safety risk and business operations to formulate a corporate safety strategy to promote business development, reduce risks, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of physical and personal risk. The Health and Safety Manager has oversight authority for all aspects of safety-related investigations, training, operations, policies, and procedures utilizing best practices and risk management principles. This position oversees self-inspections, compliance audits, and security inspections by government agencies. Additionally, the Health and Safety manager coordinates the investigation and correction of all safety compliance issues as well as oversees the development and implementation of effective industrial hygiene programs. Location Minnesota

+ Screen projects and project sites before work commences, identifying safety-related risks. + Inspect active project sites to evaluate ongoing work conditions to guarantee compliance. + Liaise with external parties such as government-employed inspectors to evaluate the process of construction sites. + Work with project management teams and field workers to implement and devise solutions to safety-related issues on project sites. + Assesses risk management and investigates incidents. + Work with senior management to create plans for emergency procedures. + Maintain safety-related paperwork, including OSHA 300 logs and safety training certifications, such as OSHA OTI + Working with the Legal Department, report and manage insurance claims. + Train company employees on safe work practices and emergency procedures + Represent construction company in meetings with government bodies and other organizations on issues regarding workplace health and safety. + Coach subcontractors and employees who fail to comply with minimum safety standards. + Create and maintain Project health & safety manuals/plans + Maintain all project documentation (i.e., Site safety reports, JHAs, Safety audits, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), toolbox talk topics) + Maintain PPE inventory + Recommend safety protocols for sites Associates degree or comparable experience in construction management, safety management, or related field

Minimum of five years experience in construction, identifying threats, and developing appropriate protection measures

Demonstrated experience in Distribution and Logistics

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations with great interpersonal skills.

Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors, and/or self-perform work

Proficiency with reading blueprints, plans, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Proficiency with Procore or other construction management software

OSHA 30 certified

CPR/First-aid certification

Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

Ability to travel to markets where Novel builds CSGs (e.g., Maine) **Bonus points**

Preferred Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Safety Management, or a related field Professional Safety Certification, i.e., CSP, CHSP Proficiency with Gantt charts and/or Smartsheets Experience working on solar construction Heavy equipment operator certification(s) OSHA 500 Certified Hazwoper certified
