Senior Tax Accountant Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement tax-saving strategies for clients to optimize their financial positions.

Analyze financial statements and transactions to identify opportunities for tax efficiency.

Provide proactive advice on potential tax implications of business decisions and transactions.

Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of projects.

Implement and maintain quality control procedures to uphold the firm's standards of excellence.

Review workpapers and documentation to guarantee the accuracy of financial information and compliance with regulations.

Lead the preparation and review of complex individual and business tax returns.

Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring accurate and up-to-date compliance.

Provide guidance to junior staff on tax code interpretations and client-specific tax matters.

Act as a primary point of contact for high-profile clients, fostering strong and trusting relationships.

Conduct client meetings to discuss tax strategies, identify opportunities for savings, and address potential challenges.

Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information for comprehensive tax analysis.

Senior Tax Accountant Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

CPA license or EA designation and 3+ years of prior experience in public accounting preferred, but not required

Master's degree in Taxation, preferred, but not required

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written

History of being self-motivated, results-oriented and customer-focused

Possess ability to stay organized, have great attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills
