- Preparing and reviewing depletion schedules for tax returns related to oil and gas activities, detailing income and expenses per property.
- Providing advisory services on oil & gas taxation, including lease sales, acquisitions, depletion, and intangible drilling costs.
- Ensuring accurate time and billing for yourself and your team.
- Gaining a comprehensive understanding of clients' businesses and fulfilling assigned tasks within deadlines.
- Actively seeking new client relationships and engaging in seminars to broaden networking opportunities.
- Staying informed about changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, applying new knowledge to client engagements.
- Collaborating with other tax professionals within the firm to enhance service delivery.
- Holding yourself and your direct reports accountable for achieving developmental objectives.
- Mentoring and coaching junior team members.
- Engaging in professional development activities to enhance technical knowledge and industry-specific expertise.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in tax compliance and/or consulting within public accounting or the oil & gas sector.
- CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent Certification is mandatory.
- Relevant experience in oil and gas industry-specific tax compliance and consulting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to manage large datasets.
- Master's Degree in Taxation or a related field.
- Experience with CCH Axcess tax software.
