Position Summary:

The Analyst, Financial Operations performs tasks of an analytical nature as an integral member of the AR Operations team. The primary focus of the position is to create and/or maintain actionable financial analysis and reporting to enhance Accounts Receivable operations across the enterprise to reduce DSO and limit bad debt expense. Additional responsibilities include the development and implementation of department policies and procedures that drive the actions of the credit and collections team. This position requires the ability to facilitate effective and action oriented meetings utilizing skills in data analysis and written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders, including Executive level management.

The Analyst, Financial Operations must have strong analytical, communication and reporting skills. The Analyst, Financial Operations will demonstrate increasing understanding of Inmar as a service provider and increasing autonomy for assigned responsibilities. Growth in position is evident when the incumbent begins to identify trends, anticipate questions and proactively provide answers to questions not yet asked. Although most of the work involves managing existing processes and reports, the Analyst, Financial Operations is expected to improve each with experience, insights and the evolution of changing data needs.

Primary Accountabilities:

Analytical (40%)
  • Compile results of collection activities based on outcomes against targeted accounts or lines of business.
  • Create and maintain trending of key financial metrics required to help evaluate and drive decisions in actions taken by the credit and collections team.
  • Reduce recurring collections issues by performing root cause analyses to identify and implement cross functional process improvements.
  • Identify potential automation opportunities and other process improvements to positively impact cash flow.
  • Gather, analyze and summarize data for Ad-hoc reports requested by leadership
  • Identify and analyze business problems and devise procedures and solutions to the problems
  • Enhance reporting capabilities with greater depth and consistency in formats
Operational (35%)
  • Develop a credit program to evaluate client risk and identify client credit worthiness; implement approval levels for extension of credit and/or payment plans for delinquent accounts.
  • Develop, maintain and produce monthly, quarterly or annual reports, as required and provide insights into the trends
  • Proactively monitor client receivables used to influence weekly targets for the team to prioritize their collection efforts to drive DSO improvement.
  • Gain an understanding of payment delays and work with internal and external stakeholders to address the root cause and mitigate the risk of recurrence.
  • Develop an understanding of customer's internal payment approval processes; provide support to pricing and contracting processes.
  • Support internal incentive program through analysis of A/R and ongoing audit of the operational workflow.
  • Update internal systems as necessary with contact details, conversations and issues affecting payments.
Leadership (15%)
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and translate granular detail to executive summary level to address and resolve root cause issues.
  • Lead internal cross functional meetings with management leaders to escalate and assign accountability to address serious credit and collections problems.
  • Work cross-functionally in the development or implementation of new financial and/or operating systems or processes.
  • Influence a team culture that emphasizes customer service, accountability, quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.
  • Continuously evaluate policies, procedures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the credit and collections team that provide financial controls, mitigate risk, and drive expected outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with team, peers, and leaders within the company.
  • Provide training and mentoring of staff members in the credit and collections department.
Orientation (10%)
  • Learn Inmar's product offerings and services to our customers across the major operational divisions.
  • Understand Inmar activities triggering the ability to earn revenue and invoice customers.
  • Gain knowledge of financial and transactional systems, the flow of data associated with service offerings and their translation into cash.
  • Become familiar with leadership structure, including C-suite executives, Divisional and BU leadership and Finance leadership and alignment with each business.
Required Qualification:
  • Bachelors' Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related field of study
  • 1-3 years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position
  • Proficient in Salesforce, G-Suite, and Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Awareness and experience with data analytics and reporting tools, such as Tableau and Alteryx
  • Experience with factoring and credit programs a plus
