Description:

This is an opportunity to join the IERUS team as a Global Software Engineer supporting a large Missile Defense Agency program.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 9 years' experience and be responsible for, but not limited to: responsibility for software development using Java; providing in-depth analysis and technical support of a large, distributed system written in Java; performing complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user support for a large code baseline; following specifications to develop or modify functionality within the code; assisting with design, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation; interfacing with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve efficiency; and designing, coding, testing, and implementing tools for automation.

Required Qualifications: B.S. or M.S. in a related engineering discipline; Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering. Security+ CE certification or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification. Must be a US citizen with an active Secret clearance. Java experience. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to be cleared at TS/SCI. A secret is required to start. Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, team environment. Knowledge of software practices and coding standards. Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, and recommend and develop a solution.

Desired Qualifications: Experience working as part of an Agile team. Familiarity with Java Spring. Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker/Kubernetes. Knowledge of server-side development and message passing. Experience developing enterprise applications. Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking. Use of common software development and management tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle and Eclipse. Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams. Previous experience with message translation software. Automated test and pipeline development experience. Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms. Experience with Software Integration testing including developing automated test scripts. Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify mitigation. Prior experience designing and developing microservices and deploying with containers; experience setting up a container environment.

The proposed salary range for this position is $77.9k - $128.7k. Salaries are commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications within the experience bandwidth, as well as market and business considerations.
