Interim Controller

Our Client is a manufacturer based near Downtown Los Angeles.
Pay: $90-105/hr DOE
Summary:
- The Controller manages, coordinates, and analyzes the operational and financial aspects of the organization.
- The Controller reports to the CFO
- The candidate will also work with the management team serving as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, and develop systems that will contribute to the overall growth and scalability of the company.
- Directly participates in key initiatives and strategies to continually improve the quality and efficiency of systems and reporting.
- Responsible for overall accounting operations for the organization.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking in planning for the organization's short-term and long-term financial future and short-term cash needs.
- Responsible for ensuring systems of internal controls are in place to safeguard the organization's assets.
- Oversees the coordination and activities of the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and participates in tax filings and other regulatory reporting.
- An integral member of the team to develop a formal budget and supervises the budgeting process, providing a standard of measurement so performance can be evaluated.
- 5 years of experience ideally in a CPG manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- Master's degree and or CPA is not required but is preferred.
- Excellent communication, listening, leadership and management skills are essential.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively deal with multiple tasks are important.
- Must be able to effectively work closely with staff, and peers.
- Superior Excel skills are essential.
- Deep understanding of cost of goods, financial models.
- Ideally, the candidate has worked in organizations where fundraising was happening frequently.
- Will supervise cash management, AP, AR, payroll, and outsourced accounting staff.
- Work closely with CEO to manage company insurance policies (including employee benefits, general liability, product recall, stock throughput, and auto policies), P&L, and Balance Sheet.
