Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Cost Accountant with 3-5 years of experience to support the finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting practices and GAAP principles.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed cost analysis and reporting to support management decision-making.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Perform account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data.
Oversee and maintain inventory processes, including cycle counts and inventory valuation.
Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Monitor and control costs to enhance profitability and efficiency.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and cost management.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Skills And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
CPA designation is a plus.
3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting practices and GAAP principles.
Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis.
Experience with account reconciliation and inventory management.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
Knowledge of cost accounting standards (CAS) and manufacturing cost accounting.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
