Internal Supply Chain Supervisor

The Internal Supply Chain Supervisor plays a pivotal role in optimizing the internal supply chain processes to ensure the efficient flow of materials and resources throughout warehousing and manufacturing operations. The Supervisor will direct the physical receipt, storage, movement, internal distribution, and outbound shipments of all components, materials, and finished goods. In addition, the Supervisor will work closely with various departments to coordinate procurement, production planning, inventory management, and distribution, ultimately contributing to overall success and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities are to be performed with permitting Safety first while following all company and OSHA safety guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes inventory levels and implements strategies to optimize inventory turnover while minimizing excess stock
  • Directs continuous improvement initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing overall internal supply chain performance and driving operational excellence
  • Collaborates with the Logistics Manager to ensure that warehousing operations properly support business and project requirements
  • Directs physical material and product flow throughout internal company supply chain in accordance with processes and systems implemented by Logistics Manager
    • Audits efficiencies of the physical receipt, movement, distribution, and storage of materials and finished goods
  • Provides direction to the Logistics Leads in matters concerning the work of staff to ensure clear expectations are communicated and the work performed is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements
  • Monitors all warehouse functions and the pace and flow of product and materials from receipt through shipping
    • Reviews activities related to the receipt of materials from vendors, storage of materials in the warehouse, and delivery of materials to production according to the schedule
    • Directs activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles for material and product transfers and customer delivery
    • Schedules vendor pickups and coordinates deliveries with Receiving clerk/facility
    • Improves the work processes within the warehouse areas by identifying process issues and developing counter measures
    • Prepares reports as necessary for Logistics Manager review
  • Audits monthly cycle count (including storage trailers), performed by Logistics Leads and Material Coordinators
  • Participates in and assists with Lean Initiatives
    • Recommendations for Warehouse improvements and efficiencies
    • Maintain current Lean processes
  • Reviews CDL operator daily activity logs and vehicle inspection reports communicates inefficiencies and noted equipment issues to Logistics Manager
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Assists with ensuring OSHA safety guidelines are being met and maintained
  • Requests and Initiates disciplinary action with direction from the Logistics Manager
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of Warehouse and Internal Supply Chaing leadership experience required
  • Manufacturing / Production environment experience preferred
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks/projects to meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, inventory/shipping systems (ERP) and supply chain management software
  • Advanced math and recording skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Successfully complete and maintain the OSHA forklift certification training
