Job Summary:
Transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations, enabling physicians, nurses, technicians, and therapists to perform their duties in an effective manner.
Primary Duties:
- Transport patients between departments, and to and from patient care areas via wheelchair, stretcher, bed, and other transport equipment.
- Handle medical equipment safely, including IV pumps/poles, oxygen tanks, PCA pumps, chest tubes, catheters, and traction while transporting patients.
- Ensurestimelyresponse to all patient and patient-related transportation requests andutilizesappropriate transportdispatching systemin accordance withestablished guidelines .
- Adheres to all policies, procedures, and standardsestablishedby all regulatory agencies including Federal, State, Joint Commission, OSHA, and CDC.
- Works closely with hospital staff and openly communicates andsolves problemsto ensure client and patient needs are met.
- Responds to transport requests with a sense of urgency, meetingdelivery timegoalsandensuringpatient safety by following established procedures and using only approved equipment.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations;required .
- High School Diploma or GED preferred orequivalentpreferred
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR certificationpreferred
- Lessthan 1 year 3 months related experience preferred
