Saint-Gobain, a leader in global manufacturing, is looking for a Financial Analyst to join the team in Portage as part of our Life Sciences division in Portage, WI. This role will have responsibility for the Portage, WI and Poestenkill, NY locations.

This role will encompass providing cost analysis, standard cost establishment, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This position is responsible for all aspects of cost accounting including variance analysis and month-end closing. Provide staff and divisional management, accurate and timely information that will assist them in monitoring performance in order to reach company established goals and objectives. Complete specially assigned projects by the Site Controller/Staff as required.

In addition to broad accounting knowledge, the incumbent should possess some familiarity with or have the skills and the ability to learn to become familiar with the accounting and ERP manufacturing processes systems. A comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint are required. The Financial Analyst communicates with several levels of personnel both verbally and in writing, so these skills must be effective. Person must have strong interpersonal skills. 2+ years of manufacturing experience related to cost accounting and financial reporting preferred.

Essential functions:
  • Provide cost analysis, standard cost establishment, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis & support to site management.
  • Ensure prompt month-end closing, issue management reports.
  • Provide non-routine accounting information to site controller, BU controller & other financial groups.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts/WCM.
  • Undertake project work assigned by Site Controller which includes multiple projects covering varying accounting needs of facility.

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of related business experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to estimate sales revenue.
  • Know and understand the quality and safety policies.
  • Adhere to the principles of data integrity.
  • Fundamental knowledge of financial statements, ratios, and main concepts of GAAP / IFRS.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Excel, including macros, linking of multiple files, logical formulas and downloading of data from other systems.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Windows software. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Preference for experience using corporate ERP system (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.).
