Job Title: Director of Security

Overview: The Director of Security plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property. They are responsible for developing and implementing security protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and maintain a secure environment within the hotel premises. Additionally, they oversee security personnel, manage security technologies, and liaise with law enforcement agencies when necessary.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement security policies and procedures to safeguard guests, employees, and hotel assets.

Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.

Manage a team of security personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.

Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless integration of security measures into daily operations.

Monitor surveillance systems, access control systems, and other security technologies to detect and respond to security threats.

Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and guest complaints, taking appropriate action to resolve issues.

Maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders, collaborating on security matters as needed.

Develop and conduct security awareness training programs for hotel staff to enhance security awareness and preparedness.

Stay informed about emerging security threats and industry best practices, adapting security strategies accordingly.

Prepare and manage the security budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources while meeting security objectives.

Investigate security breaches, thefts, and other incidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to hotel security.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) are preferred.

Proven experience in security management, preferably in the hospitality industry at the director level.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.

Knowledge of security technologies, such as CCTV systems, access control systems, and alarm systems.

Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to hotel security (e.g., fire codes, OSHA regulations).

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Physical fitness and the ability to perform security duties, including patrolling the hotel premises and responding to emergencies.

Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and security management software.

Strong commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive information and security matters
