Position Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings. This includes assisting with daily living activities, providing transportation, engaging in recreational opportunities, and promoting independence. Compassion, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills are essential. Career Development Advance your career with Achieva through the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) certification program. Increase your hourly wage as you complete each level: DSP I: +$0.50/hour DSP II: +$0.50/hour DSP III: +$1.00/hour Key Responsibilities Support individuals in leading lives of personal significance Assist with personal care, including bathing, laundry, and meal preparation Transport and accompany individuals to community events and appointments Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation Promote independence, including assistance with money management Communicate concerns and successes with team members Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to perform one-person physical transfers required One year of related experience preferred Reliable transportation required; valid driver's license preferred Must meet PA Act 33/34 clearance requirements Our Commitment to Inclusion Achieva is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) and is committed to building a workplace and community where all people feel respected, included, and valued.
