**Job Title: Welder****Job Description**We're actively seeking two second-shift Welders to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be working on a variety of castings, ranging in size from washing machines to basketballs. Your tasks will mainly consist of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) work, with some repair work as needed. Responsibilities include prepping material for welding, fabricating various metals using GTAW/TIG welding techniques, and using manual GTAW welding, semi-auto GTAW welding, and brazing equipment to join, seam weld, and fabricate components based on customer specs. You'll also be responsible for minor modifications, troubleshooting, and rework of some components. Ability to work from complex blueprints and instructions from Supervisors/Leads is crucial. Additionally, you'll carry out quick dimensional inspections of welds using calipers, protractors, and gauges, and perform visual inspections for cosmetic defects. You'll need to complete logs, check sheets, job orders, and other paperwork required for each job performed.**Hard Skills**+ TIG welding+ Experience in an aerospace environment+ Experience working with at least 2 of the following metals: stainless steel, aluminum, magnesium, Inconel, cobalt, titanium+ Able to work from complex blueprints and instructions+ Quick dimensional inspection of welds+ Completing necessary paperwork for each job**Soft Skills**+ Able to handle minor modifications and troubleshooting+ Able to perform rework of components+ Perform visual inspections for cosmetic defects**Job Type**This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).**Work Site**This is a fully on-site position in East Granby, Connecticut.**Work Environment**You'll be working in a clean, well-lit, and organized environment with a mix of new and old machines. The shop floor is bustling with a team of 200 people across two shifts. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel toes and safety glasses, is required on the floor. Work schedule is Monday to Friday, with the second shift running from 3:30pm to 12:00am.
