Guest Experience Intern

The Intern provides support daily to the Guest Services managers, the part-time staff, and the Xcel Energy Center, Roy Wilkins Auditorium, and RiverCentre guests by providing excellent customer service. A strong focus on engagement and oversight of part-time staff incentives such as social media platforms, implementing staff celebrations, birthday cards, and ensuring staff satisfaction and retention while providing superior service. Office duties would include event day preparation and aiding the manager on duty with various tasks related to the event.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Office Duties

  • Support the manager in creating and implementing part-time employee incentives and communication.
  • Manage the part-time staff's social media platforms which include monitoring, creating content, and offering fun initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the department to ensure implementation of all special requests such as wheelchair escorts, special seating, greeting and placing ASL Interpreters, with other logistics to create a successful event.
  • Plan and execute monthly celebrations for the part-time staff.
  • Help with public tours.
  • Keep the break spaces, office areas, and employee services clean and complete laundry as necessary.
  • Attend Event Operations meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Event Day Operation
  • Update and print event day materials for the frontline staff.
  • Ensure the building setup is complete and ready to welcome the guests.
  • Provide service to the part-time team as needed at events with things such as online help for the various websites they use, resetting passwords, and helping with scheduling questions or concerns.
  • Help with recruiting staff for upcoming events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification
  • Recent college graduate or college student in senior year, or current graduate student with the ability to work 30 hours a week.
    Customer service or sports industry experience preferred along with a degree major in areas of sports management, and/or business management.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Proficient computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledgeable of the management of social media platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment with a focus on creating an exceptional experience for the part-time guest experience staff.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Conditions
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to walk up and down stairs.
  • Ability to push and pull wheelchairs up to 300 lbs.
