Safety-Sensitive jobs include tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.These tasks and duties include, but are not limited to operating: material handling equipment, motorized vehicles, welding equipment, fabrication machinery, power tools, working at height over four feet and working in confined spaces (or as prescribed by OSHA).Our core competency is based on safely processing alloyed: structures, weldments, piping systems, pressure vessels and sheet metal components of varying shapes and sizes.Fit-up of fabricated pieces of using blueprints. Perform welding in conformance to American Welding Society D1.1 Structural Steel code and to GSM Industrial, Inc. quality standards.We are open to various levels of experience and experience in the following;Quick learnerHigh attention to detailASME code workFood grade/cosmetic/polished SSRoot pass full penetrationBake purgeAble to pass Hydro, UT and X-rayThis is a 2nd Shift position and the hours are: Mon - Thurs 3pm - 3am, additional Friday and Saturday work optional as available. There is also a $2.00 shift differential for 2nd shift.Essential Job Functions:Accurately read and interpret blueprints or shop drawingsIdentifying parts using cut list and shop drawingsFit-up and assembly of partsMeasuring, squaring, string lining and leveling work to assure accuracySafely set-up and operation of welding machine and equipmentWelding, grinding and cuttingVerify quality assurance and perform basic inspectionMaterial handling using overhead crane, rigging equipment and forkliftGeneral labor, assembly and basic quality assuranceIn addition to the essential functions listed above, the employee is expected to:Be honest, demonstrate integrity and respect with all customers and co-workers.Follow company policies and procedures and maintain a professional demeanor and work ethic.Demonstrate a positive attitude and communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.Work with accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail.Respect the work environment and keep it as safe, neat and clean as possible.Demonstrate initiative to learn new skills and tasks and to help co-workers when possible.Perform such other duties and functions as required.RequirementsQualifications:A minimum of (1) year experience in industrial metal fabrication including GMAW, GTAW, FCAW and SMAWA minimum of (1) year experience in blueprint reading and fit-upMachines/Tools/Equipment:Personal protection equipmentWelding equipmentGrinding and cutting equipmentBasic hand toolsBasic power toolsOverhead cranes and rigging equipmentForkliftWorking Conditions:Primarily a controlled shop environmentOccasional outside work in all types of weather conditionsIn a normal workday, the employee must be able to stand 7+ hoursIn a normal workday, the employee must be able to sit 1-4 hoursIn a normal workday, the employee must be able to walk 7+ hoursIn a normal workday, the employee must be able to drive 0-1 hoursIn a normal workday, the employee must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. maximum; frequently lift/carry up to 25 lbs. - MediumWorkThe employee must be able to use his/her upper extremities for repetitive simple grasping, pushing/pulling and fine manipulation.The employee must be able to:Bend at the waist continuously (67-100%) throughout the workdaySquat at the knees continuously (67-100%) throughout the workdayClimb continuously (67-100%) throughout the workdayReach above shoulders continuously (67-100%) throughout the workdayKneel continuously (67-100%) throughout the workdayCrawl continuously (67-100%) throughout the workdayUse feet (foot controls) continuously (67-100%) throughout the workday
