About the Job:
The Biomedical Equipment Tech II performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of basic biomedical equipment in accordance with the hospitals Medical Equipment Management Plan
What Youll Do:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance according to established procedures on basic clinical equipment such as thermometers, EKG machines, and infusions pumps.
- Address and prioritize emergency calls for the immediate repair of basic biomedical equipment via the Engineering Departments Computerized Maintenance Management software, by phone, and/or by email.
- Inspect and document newly purchased basic clinical equipment according to the hospitals policy and procedures and work with other team members to identify and assign proper future PM tasks in accordance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
- Accompany the Biomed Supervisor, or higher-level technicians, on repair requests or preventive maintenance of mid-level complexity clinical equipment when called upon.
Who You Are:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or a closely related field or a combination of experience preferred.
- A valid drivers license is required and must be maintained throughout employment in the position.
- CBET preferred
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of general electromechanical troubleshooting experience is required.
