Financial Controller

Gilbert, located in Melville, NY, is an established custom trade show, commercial/residential interiors and corporate events firm providing design, fabrication, and full program management services for some of the most recognized brands in the world. Founded in 1986, Gilbert serves clients in numerous industries including consumer electronics, consumer goods, eyewear, fashion, jewelry and more.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is a key member of the site leadership team and will report directly to the CFO. This role is instrumental to define strategy and manage business performance including all financial analysis of forecasts and actual performance, business drivers, and operational metrics.
This position is fully onsite.
To be considered for the role:
5+ years as Controller, Manufacturing Experience, Experience putting procedures in place, experience with ERP.
Preparation of monthly financial reporting package to include balance sheet, income statement, P&Ls broken out for each job, variance to budget report, cash flow forecast, breakeven analysis and backlog
Monthly closings
Preparation of the yearly financial statements
Maintenance of the General Ledger
Oversee job costing system
Monitors the company’s internal control environment and controllership function to ensure compliance and strong accounting processes
Assists with implementation of changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the Company
Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable/and collection, payroll
Responsible for coordination/preparation of audits (workers compensation and sale tax audits)
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
Must have minimum 7 years in manufacturing environment
Project accounting experience is preferred
Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and bank working knowledge
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a complete manner
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP systems
