This position collaborates with The VP of Operations to ensure all grant reporting, revisions and submissions are accurate and submitted timely.

The Director of Finance supervised all accounting and revenue cycle staff within the organization. This position also supervises the procurement department and other accounting staff and ensures compliant procurement and accounting practices are adhered to. This position supports all internal and external audits and leads CHP's annual Independent external audit to ensure annual financial independent audits are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

The Director of Finance is responsible for executing the company's financial strategy, managing accounting procedures, developing plans for growth to increase company bottom-line while also managing expenditure, identifying investment opportunities, managing mergers and acquisitions, request for proposals and/or request for information are completed as per policy. This position works and collaborates with the CEO on financial and operational strategies that promote organization success.

The Director of Finance manages the efforts, results, and success of CHP's finance department and provides the CEO with financial plans, financial statements and forecast in a timely manner. This position also manages payroll activities in collaboration with the Human Resources department.

This position advice and supports senior executives and division leaders with financial budgets, grants reporting and other fiscal needs. This position leads the Finance Board Committee, prepares and reports out monthly on fiscal statements and plans. The annual 990s, 5500 reporting, 1099s, Medicaid, Medicare Cost Reports, 403B and 340B pharmacy reports are accountable areas of this position. This position develops and maintains financial policies and procedures, monitors financial performance measure; prepares financial portion of grant, funding applications, reports and participates in development of business plan.

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead a partnership with the CEO, Executive, Leadership Team, and clinical staff to design and fulfill annual division/department budgets and the adherence of such.
  • Responsible for the management and implementation of the selected and active billing company to drive and manage KPIs in support of CHP's strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Operations on designing strategies and tactics for growth and success across all areas of CHP.
  • Provide monthly patient statistic by gender and age in support of strategic decision making.
  • Participate in the Board Finance Committees monthly and other periodic board meetings.
  • Public periodic targeted financial forecast of revenue and expenses to drive financial results in collaboration with the CEO and the VP of Operations.
  • Present monthly to key staff the financial goals/outcomes and stress the importance of identified improvements necessary to meet and achieve goals. Engage operations leaders and providers by designing and sharing their outcomes with efforts to drive the organizations mission.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the CEO, VP of Operations, Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health Director to build and empower the organizational capacity, capability, consistency, and confidence in clinical and in the generation of new ideas that increase revenue and fiscal longevity.
  • Analytical, skilled in interpreting health regulations and applying them in new protocols, with a keen eye for keeping records, budgets, grants schedules and other schedules in perfect order.
  • Compassionate, sympathetic, and ethical in their leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
  • Accountable for revenues and front office cash collections and the implementation of quality assurance that will ensure proper and timely collections.
  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, productivity, denial, collections, A/R reports, tax returns, and other internal and external governmental/partner agency reports.
  • Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
  • Works with the CEO and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Advanced degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field; several years of experience in finance; excellent mathematical skills.
  • Master's degree in business administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
  • Eight to ten years of experience in financial management required.
  • Knowledge of fiscal planning, analysis, and management principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving (and sometimes ambiguous) environment, while managing toward clarity and solutions
  • Knowledge of health care management principles and practices, enough to direct operations within a health care organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences in small and large group settings.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, sound judgement, discretion, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to solve management issues and direct numerous and varied operations simultaneously.
  • Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance, hold people accountable for achieving deliverable metrics, encourage team participation, and motivate others through a shared vision.
  • Knowledge of human resource management practices
  • Knowledge of related regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Possesses and maintains a current knowledge of healthcare industry operations and trends.
  • Valid Driver's license and automobile insurance.
