The I&C Field Service Engineer is responsible for all project management processes on low complexity projects. All project management is performed in accordance with the established Westinghouse policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. Additionally, this individual will be expected to understand and begin to develop subject matter expertise in one or more Westinghouse I&C systems. Your Day-to-Day: Project Planning: Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines. Assist others in the planning and document generation process for larger more complex projects. Project Executing, Monitoring and Controlling: Based on project plan, follow department protocols for acquiring team members as needed to complete the work. Manage all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders. Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups following an integrated change management process. Recognize and identify problems with equipment and systems, per procedure. Recommend potential solutions for implementation. Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of status. Maintain project databases, systems and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation between project team members. Participate in larger more complex projects as a supervisor or individual contributor. Project Closing: Properly close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools. Perform final project quality assessment and report out. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future. Training: Begin to develop subject matter expertise in one ore more Instrumentation and Control Systems supported by the group. Participate in system and field leadership training. Assist in preparing and delivering project specific training for crews. Leadership: Demonstrate the skills and ability to perform assigned job tasks independently. Supervise assigned projects and small teams with predetermined goals, demonstrating leadership skills. Lead projects in a manner that upholds a strong nuclear safety culture and reinforces the policies and procedures of Westinghouse. Utilize interpersonal skills to cultivate positive relationships with team, customer, and other stakeholders (e.g. internal management) to facilitate successful project completion as well as identify opportunities for additional business growth. Provide direct oversight of Westinghouse employees and subcontractors while executing work. Ensure the flawless execution of field projects from planning through closing and identify areas of improvement in everything you do. Able to make decisions on a daily basis and seek guidance and coaching from mentor regarding complex problems. Ability to coach or mentor others at an equal level of position. Direct and coach less experienced personnel. Who You Are: Education: Bachelor's degree required. Applicable disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related technical disciplines Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology is preferred. 2 years project management experience OR 1 year project management experience and 1 year experience in technical role in the nuclear or construction industry. 2-4 years of experience as a project manager in a technical industry such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear, or construction is preferred. PMP or WEC PM certification preferred but not required. Skills/Competencies: Strong interpersonal skills such as effective verbal and written communications, ability to lead team members, able to develop relationships with internal stakeholders, able to make decisions and carry out multiple tasks as assigned with minimal guidance from supervisory project managers and mentors. Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. Knowledge and skill of project scheduling and cost management. Demonstrated ability and understanding of the transformation of data to information for visual use.
