The responsibilities of the position are sensitive in nature and will require that the candidate develop and implement internal team protocols and processes for documentation. The position is in the Office of Policy and Governmental Affairs (HPL's) Office of Legislative Affairs and Policy Communications (HPLS). HPL offers policy-related advice and services to the FHWA Administrator, FHWA business units, the transportation community, and other included stakeholders. HPLS coordinates a wide variety of activities related to the overall Federal-aid and Federal Lands Highway Programs, policy issues pertaining to the programs, and analysis of the implications of legislative and fiscal decisions on the programs. Senior Briefer/Transportation Specialist , you will: Synthesize highly technical and complex programmatic information collected from throughout the Agency and put that information into succinct written materials to be used by the Office of the Secretary (OST) and the FHWA Office of the Administrator (HOA). Stay current with what is going on in both national and state level transportation issues, which includes consistently monitor. Analyze incoming briefing requests, determining the requirements, working with the requestor, identifying, and establishing deadlines and assessing the information needed for the briefing. Coordinate with external contacts to gain necessary information to best prepare the briefings material for top DOT officials. Provide authoritative training and feedback (both editorial and content) to contributors and other team members. Support the rollout of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) by managing the FHWA BIL and IRA websites. The
