Position Summary:
The Nursing Home Director of Nursing position directs the flow of care in the Nursing Home to ensure that it remains operational.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day activities of the nursing department.
- Oversee staff scheduling.
- Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention and staff development.
- Initiates the development of policies and procedures that govern nursing services under position control.
- Responsible for verifying employee credentials under his or her position control.
- Responsible for collaborating with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for improved patient care and staff development.
- Responsible for planning, developing and implementing a budgeted process for staffing and services rendered.
- Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the hospital.
- Serves as a spokesperson for nursing matters and represents the hospital with professional nursing and related organizations.
- Encourages and supports research and improvement studies that can make meaningful contributions to the quality and economy of nursing services.
- Maintain Regulatory Compliance with DHS 132 and all CMS Regulations.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Two-year degree in nursing required, four-year degree in nursing preferred.
- 3+ years of related work experience preferred. Supervisory experience a plus.
- Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.
- Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
- Current CPR/BLS certification required.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
- Intermediate to expert proficiency with computers is required.
- Requires assessment, evaluation, and decision-making skills.
- Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to have continuous oral and written communication with co-workers and supervisors is essential.
