We are seeking a Sr. Solution Architect to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. The Sr. Solution Architect will be part of the Counter Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-sUAS) Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) web application development team. The position will be responsible for researching, designing, prototyping, modeling, and conveying various verified solutions to the development team for implementation. This position can be remote. Primary Responsibilities: Research and design simple and effective solutions for a containerized, cloud-hosted database web application Prototype designs and ideas to verify functionality before handing over to the development team Create detailed SysML models in Cameo for product features Work with and interview necessary stakeholders to determine any system requirements Convey complex ideas and solutions in meaningful ways to stakeholders and developers Work with the development team to ensure designs are implemented and tested properly Mentor junior architects and developers in modeling and software development best practices Provide detailed solutions to high-level, abstract features related to user authentication, permissions and access, database storage, product testing, system automation, component communication, and other items related to web application development Remain current on relevant EMW capabilities across industry, government, and academia Basic Qualifications: BS degree (Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent) and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with six (6)+ years of prior relevant experience. Direct experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Excellent verbal and written communication, excellent team working experience 6+ years' experience using SysML or UML diagramming software (Cameo, Visual Paradigm, etc) to develop models Strong understanding of information technology principles and concepts including network engineering practices and protocols, containerization, cloud computing, system backups, automation, object-oriented programming, CI/CD pipelines, web servers, database servers, and dynamic workflows Ability to work independently and provide timely feedback to project stakeholders Desired Qualifications: Experience integrating C-sUAS systems Experience with PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript, AWS cloud, git, SMTP, RESTful API Strong ability to perform independent research to fulfill project objectives Strong ability to describe concepts at the managerial level and the technical / developer level Familiarity/expertise with the below strongly desired: Javascript, HTML, CSS, Python, PHP, SOAP, REST, Linux, databases, cryptography, containerization, OOP, Infrastructure as Code, client authentication, transaction-based development Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
