A large manufacturer located in the northern suburbs of Philadelphia with an instantly recognizable brand across the US, this company has performed very well over the last 5 years Due to an internal promotion, our client is looking to find a Senior Accountant to join their accounting & finance team. Friendly and welcoming culture, a large company that has maintained it's family fee and tight knit atmosphere.

Description

  • Complete month-end close process for total company gross/net revenues
  • Prepare/post GL journal entries including standard entries, gross/net revenue adjustments and expense accruals
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of GL account data and proper supporting documentation for general ledger adjustments
  • Perform month-end/quarter-end account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of account reconciliations
  • Manage the accounting accrual process and identify variances between accrual entries and actual expenses.
  • Review variances in key revenue/expense accounts and provide insightful variance commentary.
  • Work with acquisition team and assist in the integration newly acquired company financial results into financial reporting
  • Assist in the calculation and timely reporting of company royalty income and sales commission payments
  • Prepare/generate departmental GL detail reports and cost center expense reports supporting the month-end close results.
  • Maintain accounting control procedures and documentation to support month-end close process
  • Assist with the external financial audit process

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree required (Accounting or Finance degree preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in finance/accounting (experience in consumer products industry helpful)
  • Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to identify root cause issue and recommend problem resolution
  • Detail oriented with ability to work through ambiguous data
  • Understanding of revenue recognition accounting (pharmaceutical industry experience helpful)
  • CPA and Public Accounting experience a plus
  • Integral knowledge of ERP systems (knowledge of Syspro a plus)
  • Advance skill in Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to multi-task, works successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritizes and manages time and workload to meet business needs
  • Experience with mergers/acquisitions, preferred.
  • Strong team player
