Company Our client is a non-profit real estate development organization that is looking to hire a

Project Manager . The company is vertically integrated with capabilities in acquisitions, development, asset management, and property management. The Company is mission driven and provides housing for people with disabilities. The Company develops projects in Southern New England and has been expanding into Northern New England, the Mid-Atlantic and Beyond.

Location Massachusetts. This is a remote position, and the Project Manager needs to be located Central or Eastern Massachusetts.

Role The

Project Manager

will report to the Company’s Head of Development and be responsible for managing group home development projects from site selection through acquisition, design, and construction. The ideal candidate will be a strong project manager who can lead a team of external partners and internal stakeholders. The Project Manager should have demonstrated expertise in managing a project’s scope, schedule, and budget as well as an understanding of real estate development fundamentals. In addition, the Project Manager will have the opportunity to assist in the sourcing for new development projects.

Responsibilities The Company works closely with many advisors, consultants, and vendors to provide real estate solutions for service providers and partner agencies. Projects will primarily be group home developments done in partnership with service providers but may also include a combination of other residential and non-residential projects. The ability to work within this team environment and strike the proper balance of financial realities and realization of the clients’ visions is key. The Project Manager will work with service providers to identify, define, and meet their real estate needs. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish objectives, requirements, and scope. Serve as a point of contact for clients and keeping them informed about project status and milestones. Pre-development needs assessment and programmatic space analysis. Feasibility studies and due diligence reviews. Site selection and acquisition. Refining project scope and developing detailed project plans, including timelines and cost estimates. Overseeing the selection and hiring of contractors, suppliers, and other project personnel. Design and permitting. Funding source and pro forma analysis. Managing project budgets. This includes estimating costs prior to initiating the bid process, preparing bid packages, soliciting multiple qualified bidders, scheduling the work, monitoring, and supervising the work, reviewing, and approving applications for payments, and reporting on the status of all such work. Coordinating and scheduling construction activities and commissioning. Conducting detailed inspections of construction activities to monitor progress, scope, budget, and schedule. Post-occupancy review and client satisfaction surveys. Collaboration with other Company employees, including Finance Department and Asset/Property Management Group. After-hours phone coverage (on rotating basis with other Company team members). Supporting the Company’s mission. Developing, maintaining, and expanding business relationships with existing and new construction firms. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 5+ years of project management experience in real estate development, construction management, or related field. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience. Strong communication skills, including the ability to independently produce effective and accurate written and visual communication materials. Highly organized with careful attention to accuracy and detail. Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team. High proficiency with Microsoft Office and Yardi (or similar real estate software). Ability to travel as needed to projects, which are typically located in Southern New England. The Company is also expanding into Northern New England, the Mid-Atlantic and Beyond.
