Position Overview
As a Sales Solutions Generalist, you will provide each customer with the best experience possible by helping them find and purchase animals, supplies, and services. You will discuss the needs of the guest and their pets to provide solutions for today and the future, connecting them with a Specialist when appropriate. Your responsibilities will include working the cash register, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and priced, and providing an excellent experience for each guest. Success in this role requires a passion for animal welfare, health, and proper handling, as well as being a positive partner within the Pet Care Center team.
Position Responsibilities
Engage with guests using acquired skills and training to provide a great experience.
Assist guests in selecting merchandise according to their needs.
Show a high level of interest in animal welfare, health, and proper handling.
Process transactions to create a positive guest experience.
Build future business by understanding the guests and their pets.
Support the Pet Care Center in achieving sales goals.
Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed effectively.
Complete and apply training programs to maintain expertise.
Follow operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Promote teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
Handle guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty when necessary.
Other Essential Duties
UTILIZE SELLING BEHAVIORS : Provide an amazing guest experience within our Pet Care Locations by utilizing our Sales Model.
CONTRIBUTE TO A SAFE ENVIRONMENT : Maintain safety protocols to ensure the well-being of partners, guests, and pets.
BE A PART OF A COLLABORATIVE CULTURE : Create a culture focused on pet health and wellness needs.
ENGAGE IN YOUR CAREER : Participate in developmental programs to support career growth.
Basic Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must work effectively within a team, have a professional appearance and demeanor, a genuine interest in animals, and good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in sales, retail, or a related field is preferred, along with knowledge of pet nutrition and sales techniques.
Supervisory Responsibility
None
This position involves indoor duties primarily, with occasional merchandise handling outside the store. Physical requirements include bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs, and pulling up to 2000 lbs. Safety precautions must be followed. Availability for evening, weekend, overnight, and holiday shifts is required.
