ABOUT THE POSITION:
Allora is looking for a Line Cook who can accurately and efficiently cook multiple proteins, vegetables, and other food items. In tandem with preparing and portioning food products prior to and during service. The line cook will be responsible for the final plating preparation: knowing and executing proper plating and garnishing procedures for all menu items. The successful candidate will play an essential role in contributing to our guest's satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.
- Set up and stock station with necessary supplies in an efficient and timely manner.
- Prepare, stock, and maintain line stock appropriately throughout shift.
- Prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, butchering meat, crafting sauces).
- Read, understand, and execute recipes.
- Communicate and coordinate with each station to ensure food comes out simultaneously with the highest quality in a timely fashion.
- Demonstrate proficient knowledge and understanding of each dish on the menu.
- Follow instruction from executive, sous chef, pastry chef, and lead line.
- Keep a high standard of station cleanliness throughout shift.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize kitchen after service.
- Experience in culinary field and/or schooling.
- Willingness to learn and grow in proficiency and skill.
- Passion for creating high quality food.
- Ability to take direction, work cooperatively with others, and excel in a high-pressure environment.
- Self-discipline and strong work ethic.
