About the Role
Validity is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to serve as its Senior Revenue Accountant. Reporting to the Manager - Revenue Accounting, the Senior Revenue Accountant will play a key role in the day-to-day revenue operations. This includes month-end close responsibilities around processing revenue, performing revenue reconciliations, and processing commissions in Xactly. This role requires a keen attention to detail and strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Finance or Accounting, have a strong understanding of ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers, and have some hands-on experience in NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
This position has a hybrid work schedule requiring you to work in our Boston corporate office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Process and review revenue details, elements, arrangements, and plans and run system journal entries in NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM).
Prepare all revenue-related entries as part of the monthly financial close process in accordance with ASC 606.
Drive key month-end revenue close procedures and prepare month-end reconciliations, including Deferred Revenue.
Collaborate with the billing and collection teams for any items impacting revenue.
Participate in the financial audit and preparation of required audit support schedules.
Identify and communicate areas for improvement in day-to-day activities relating to the revenue and commissions processes.
Process and maintain commission calculations in Xactly; work directly with sales and sales management to resolve discrepancies encountered.
Prepare all commissions journal entries as part of the monthly financial close process in accordance with ASC 340, Other Assets and Deferred Costs.
Provide commission expenses reporting and analytics.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business from an accredited college or university.
Qualified accountant with 2+ years’ experience in revenue accounting or audit; experience from a Big 4 audit firm preferred.
Demonstrated ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Advanced level of proficiency with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) including ASC 606 and ASC 340.
Highly organized, detail and process-oriented; develops and executes project plans within designated timelines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Collaborative team player with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to achieve common goals.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a high growth, fast- paced environment.
Strong organizational, problem-solving and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and make judgment-based decisions with a good sense for when escalation and additional communication may be necessary.
Self-starter willing to think outside of the box, influence change and be proactive on implementing process improvements.

Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant
Prior experience working with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Xactly
Prior experience working at an international SaaS company.
Experience with calculating commission and recording related accounting entries.
