Description

Your Opportunity:

As a full-time Mechanical Engineer for TechSource, you will provide support to a new National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) flash X-ray radiography capability. This radiography capability is a multi-pulse linear induction accelerator, nicknamed Scorpius.

This role is a full-time hybrid role in Mercury, NV is required for this role (4/10 work schedule). You will be expected to come onsite 30% of the time. All travel will be reimbursed by the company.

What You Will Do:
  • Define, design and develop mechanical engineering solutions including hardware engineering, test software implementation, and instrument qualification
  • Collect and perform statistical analysis on mechanical data to correlate to performance metrics
  • Provide assistance to the engineering department for troubleshooting on new assemblies/designs
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
  • Retrieving items from other warehouses or offices
  • Support assembly and testing of other accelerator components
Requirements

What You Will Need:
  • A bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with preference for a Masters Degree.
  • 2+ years of mechanical systems engineering industry experience
  • 2+ years of experience with module development, specifications, and debugging, mechanical testing and fault analysis,
  • Ability to work safely and follow all site safety requirements
  • US Citizenship necessary for role
  • An ability to pass a federal background check and federal drug test
Preferred skills:
  • Previous experience with DOE or DoD projects
