Now part of The Toro Company family of brands - we are excited to be part of a growing, innovative organization and invite you to join our team The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the Engineering design and analysis of a new product or revised product. What Will You Do? In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: Lead and coordinate the development of new product concepts, new products, or improvements to existing products. Creates design that satisfies the product requirements as outlined in the product specification and resolves design problems.Performs engineering analysis to predict the behavior of the proposed designs. Analysis tools may include closed form solutions, or electronic simulation programs. Computing tools may be from calculators to computers.Develops product design plans including budgets and schedules. Executes to plan and assists in control of project.Consults with other product design engineers, marketing, research engineers or mechanical designers on proposed product designs. May be responsible for work direction of designers, drafters, contract/consulting personnel, and others.Works with vendors to finalize designs and implements, in hardware, the needs of the product application. Develops specifications and working agreements with vendors. Helps assure that the vendor meets the requirements of the design.Performs functions as required by established engineering procedures including project requests through engineering release and change management procedures.Assures that designs meet the requirements of the customer as defined by safety and any applicable industry or Toro standards.Actively participates in the development and understanding of customer requirements through direct contact with marketing, customers, service, manufacturing and distribution.Coordinates work with the product development team members such as but not exclusively: Shop, Test, Drafting, CAE, Quality, Marketing, Purchasing, Plants, Advanced Manufacturing, Sales, Technical Publications, Administration, and Management. Conducts and participates in regular project team meetings.Responsible for drawing package, bill of material, and product specification. Responsible for the building of prototypes.Works with test engineers and technicians to develop tests, which simulate the requirements of the customer. Evaluates test data and develops design revisions to solve problems.Keeps abreast of new technological developments, components, concepts, materials, manufacturing processes, or competitive environment, which would affect the design or design process.What Do You Need? To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements: Professional Engineering license, orBachelors degree or higher in an ABET accredited Mechanical, Aeronautical or Agricultural engineering programEngineer I-Min of 0-2 years experienceEngineer II-Min of 2-4 years experienceEngineer III-Min of 5-7 years experienceEngineer IV-Min of 8+ years experienceMust be a US Citizen OR permanent residentWhat Can We Give You?
