Job Overview:
Responsible for updating policies & procedures of the dept which reflect appropriate practices and preparing and controlling the yearly operating expense budget. Prepares capital budgets for medical and non-medical needs of dept. Coordinate activities of the clinical laboratory with other departments and divisions. Responsible for strategic planning, outreach, business development, quality improvement including system redesign and reduction in turnaround time. Ensures that the activities for the clinical lab and pathology comply with CAP, DNV, and NJSDH guidelines and regulations. Manages, directs and coordinates all components of the clinical laboratory at SJRMC and SJWH.
Qualifications:Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, or closely related field is preferred, OR requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a closely related field from an accredited institution and MT(ASCP) Certification as a Medical Technologist.
Certification as a diplomat in laboratory management (ASCP) or clinical director (NCA) preferred.
Requires a minimum of five to seven years of previous work related experience specifically in laboratory management,.
Requires the analytic ability necessary to design highly complex systems and programs, resolve problems requiring a comprehensive and state-of-the-art awareness of the technology and literature in professional, technical, or scientific fields, or develop financial and operating plans for a large department.
