The Allegany County Public Health Department is a
Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) accredited health department.
Main Purpose Of Job
Under the supervision of the Health Officer, this position will direct the administrative services of the Allegany County Health Department (ACHD). This includes Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, HR, IT, and the Medical Transportation program. Performs administrative duties relating to the daily operation of ACHD including the planning, development, and monitoring of a complex operating budget of over 33 million dollars and a staff of approximately 300 employees. The budget has approximately 100 projects with multiple funding sources including General, Special, Reimbursable and Federal Funds along with Core and County Funding, grants, and collections from billable services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified applicants will possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a business-related field (ex. accounting, business administration) and five years of administrative experience, three years of which must have included responsibility related to budget, accounting, personnel, or related matter, and two years of supervisory experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred candidates should possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university;
Experience with FMIS; and,
Experience in revenue cycle management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Basic principles of budgeting and supervision. Ability to: Plan, organize, and provide direction for public health programs; direct and supervise staff; prepare clear and concise reports; represent the County and the State effectively in meetings with others and make formal presentations to various groups; establish and maintain effective working relationships with County and State staff, the health care community, and the public.
