Circulation Associate

We are seeking an upbeat, amiable individual with great customer service skills and a flexible schedule to join the Circulation Department. This permanent, year-round position has shifts at both Aspen Drive and Cook Park Libraries. Multilingual ability welcome. Cook Memorial Public Library District serves 61,000 residents from two full-service locations: Aspen Drive Library, 701 Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills, IL, and Cook Park Library, 413 N. Hours:

Averages 24 hours per week and includes a variety of part-time day, evening, and weekend hours.

•Wednesdays: 1 pm - 9 pm

•Thursdays 8:45 am - 2 pm

•Friday shifts vary 8:45 am - 2 pm, 1 pm - 6 pm ,8:45 am - 6 pm

•Weekend shifts on a 4-week rotation
Duties and Responsibilities:

•Check materials in and out to library patrons

•Take payment for purchases and lost/damaged materials

•Register library cards

•Process reserved materials

•Greet patrons and answer their questions
Requirements:

•High school diploma

•Strong people skills

•Proficient with computers

•Detail-oriented with good organizational skills

•Strength to move library materials, bend, and stand for extended periods

•Flexibility in filling additional shifts

•Able to work at both Cook Park and Aspen Drive Libraries
Salary and Benefits:

$16per hour, 457 savings plan, Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, paid leave, scheduled holiday pay, paid parental leave, premium pay on Sundays. Cost of living and merit increases
