Cook Memorial Public Library District (CMPLD) is seeking an individual with a courteous, friendly demeanor and great customer service skills to join the Circulation Department’s Welcome Desk at the Cook Park Library. This is a permanent year-round position.

Hours:
Average of approximately 15.5 hours a week, including a variety of part-time day and evening shifts, and monthly weekend rotations. Must be willing to fill in additional hours as needed.
- Thursday 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.
- Friday 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- 4-week rotation:

- Saturday 8:45 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Sunday 12:30 p.m. -5 p.m. (Premium Pay)

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Greets patrons and directs them to appropriate areas of the library
- Answers incoming telephone calls and directs calls to appropriate extensions
- Registers patrons for library programs and trips
- Handles miscellaneous library correspondence, data entry, and other tasks as needed

**Requirements**:

- Strong people skills
- Customer service and office experience preferred
- Detail-oriented, with good organizational skills
- Computer experience including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Reliable, flexible and willing to fill in additional hours when necessary
- High school diploma or GED

Salary & Benefits:
$16.00per hour, 457 savings plan, paid sick leave and holidays, premium pay on Sundays. Cost of living and merit increases.

Expected hours: 15.5 - 17.5 per week
