Description: Aston Carter has partnered with a company in the Alpharetta, GA area to find a Staff Accountant with 1-3 years of general ledger full cycle accounting experience. This is a 6 month contract role with potential to be brought on permanently. The work environment for this role is 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities:

+ Maintaining financial reports, records and general ledger accounts.

+ Prepare journal entries and aid with monthly close process.

+ Perform and analyze monthly bank reconciliations and other reconciliations as assigned.

+ Maintain and update documentation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks.

+ Assist in monthly variance analysis

+ Assist in ensuring compliance with GAAP.

+ Provide internal support and analysis to management as needed.

+ Perform special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

+ Bachelors degree in accounting or finance

+ 1-3+ years of relevant accounting experience

+ Some financial statement preparation a plus

+ Must have effective communication, organization, problem solving and process improvement skills

+ Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP a plus

+ Must have ability to work in fast paced environment
