Equity is a full service commercial real estate firm. Our comprehensive platform includes development, construction, brokerage and property management services that are tailored to provide solutions to each client’s needs. As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preconstruction activities on assigned projects. You will predict the cost of a construction project by considering all data regarding labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor’s costs. Integral to the cost modeling is your ability to anticipate project duration and adjust for environmental and economic conditions. Our Estimators are collaborators, partners, drivers, and relationship creators with clients, project managers, subcontractors and internal team members, alike.

What are the Key Objectives:

Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs), plans, amendments and other documentation to determine the scope of work and content for preparing time, cost, schedules, materials, design and labor estimates Review and participate in Bid Day activities including reviewing all documentation for accuracy and ensuring timely and competitive bidding Consult with clients, architects, engineers, vendors, other departments and team members to discuss estimates and resolve issues with subcontractors Active involvement in selecting qualified subcontractors and determining fit for jobs based on working knowledge of past performance Prepare estimates used by internal team in order to plan, organize and schedule work Perform site visits for documentation and cost estimating of existing systems and building conditions Assess cost effectiveness of products or services and track actual costs relative to bids Prepare and maintain a historical cost database as well as a directory of reliable suppliers and subcontractors Develop best practices based on industry knowledge and company needs

You will collaborate with other project team members and work with architects, engineers and consultants. This role is coached by the Director of Estimating.

What You Offer:

A Bachelors in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field. 5 years prior experience in construction estimating. Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of construction trades and building systems, documentation processes, industry knowledge, industry estimating tools, and undertake the appropriate measures to ensure continued personal training. Develop lasting relationships with subcontractors and vendors. Independent and self-motivated with the ability to be analytical while multi-tasking and remaining detail oriented.
