Summary

Under the general supervision of the SVP of Commercial Banking, and in conformance with the established policies and procedures, performs credit analysis for new loan requests and oversees and administers existing portfolio; including, but not limited to, preparation of annual reviews and loan modifications, as well as, tracking financial information. Maintain compliance with all related credit union policies, standardized procedures, and regulations. Serve as a mentor for junior analysts. Below is a description of the ordinary duties of the position. This description is intended as a guideline and may not be all-inclusive. There may/will be additional duties and responsibilities both related and unrelated to the department, which will require attention and therefore will be required. Employee access to a member's nonpublic personal information shall be limited to the extent necessary to accomplish the duties outlined below or as may be assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze financial statements, management profiles, business/product cycles, historical operating performance, and cash flow ability to develop an assessment of credit risk.
  • Effectively and accurately complete credit underwriting for Small-Size to Large Commercial Loan requests in a timely fashion, including but not limited to Commercial Mortgages, Commercial and Industrial as well as Working Capital Revolving Credit Loans.
  • Prepare and review in depth written analyses for relationships of various size and complexity, ensuring that the completed product is in compliance with laws, regulations and guidelines, as well as policies specific to the credit union.
  • Perform analysis and research required for the annual review of all Borrower relationships as well as the annual review-renewal of all Working Capital Revolving Lines of Credit.
  • Make constructive comments/recommendations on loan terms and structures to minimize credit risks and protect the CU's capital.
  • Work directly with junior analysts to enhance credit analysis skills to result in the performance of comprehensive, in depth and meaningful credit analysis on loan transactions with moderate complications, independently and with minimal supervision from the SVP of Commercial Banking.
  • Interact with members, Loan Officers, and Loan Operations to respond to inquiries, questions, problems and other credit issues on a timely basis.
  • Perform in-depth appraisal reviews to ensure all appraisals the CU uses are in compliance with all related appraisal regulations and the CU's internal Appraisal policy.
  • Ongoing training to further overall banking background.
  • Represent the CU in the community and at business and professional association functions.
  • Participates in and completes in a timely manner all training as assigned and required.
Non-Essential Functions:
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the SVP of Commercial Banking or management team.
  • May perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, scanning, computer input, & answering the telephone. Attends meetings and actively participates. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience: 3-5 years' experience with advanced commercial loan processing and program coordination, 7+ years' experience writing reports and /or correspondence, 10+ year's customer facing experience, proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet. Experience with Compliance One a plus.
