Collections Sr. Associate - Job Description
The Collections Sr. Associate will handle daily tasks related to collections and discrepancy resolution of aging balances. They will be responsible for following departmental procedures to effectively recover aging balances. The Collections Sr. Associate position reports to the Collections Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process and distribute monthly statements to brokers and clients, with follow-up on outstanding balances according to established departmental procedures and deadlines.
Manage outstanding invoice status and interface with Account Servicers on collection matters and dispute resolution.
Timely completion of ImageRight tasks and processes.
Provide FP&A necessary reporting to calculate aged-based write-offs.
Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Identify opportunities to enhance and improve systems & operations within the organization.
Serve as backup for other members of collections team.
Provide excellent and considerate customer service by maintaining positive effective internal and external customer relationships.
Proactively coordinate with sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
Maintain timely contact with staff, agency accounting departments, and collection agencies on receivable matters.
Follow production, productivity quality, and customer-service standards.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. An associate degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or related field.
General understanding of Accounts Receivable reports.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with limited standardization.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, with an emphasis in Excel.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to review and investigate errors and inconsistencies between accounts receivable reports.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently.
Able to work with minimum supervision while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees.
Proper grammar and proofreading skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and within short deadlines.
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $30-$34 hourly and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
