Position: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Special Services Department

Rate: $67/hour

Requirement: Must possess a valid NJDOE Speech-Language Specialist certificate

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Master's degree with major emphasis in speech-language pathology, communication disorders or speech-language and hearing science
  • Applicant must hold or be eligible for a Speech/Language Pathologist Professional License from the State of New Jersey
  • ASHA certification is preferred; however, CFY's may be considered if supervision is accessible.
  • Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of four hours per work day.
  • Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.
  • Favorable criminal background check and child registry check required.
  • 2 Step Tuberculin test.
General Responsibilities:
  • Assess and diagnose: Evaluate speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students
  • Create treatment plans: Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech-language needs
  • Provide therapy: Use diagnostic tools and therapy techniques to support the curriculum
  • Educate: Train and educate students, parents, and other professionals
  • Collaborate: Work with teachers, parents, and other professionals to achieve goals
  • Maintain records: Keep detailed records and report progress
  • Organize: Organize the school program and coordinate services with other student services
  • Participate: Attend school events and contribute to the school community
