Software Sourcing Manager

Location: St. Petersburg, FL/ Tampa, FL/ Hybrid

Duration: 3-4 months with possible contract to hire/ possible extension

Description:

Duties:

IMPORTANT: This position is handling the procurement of IT software NOT material/ goods or services. They must have a minimum of 3 years of recent experience supporting software contracts (on-prem/ SaaS/ cloud).

Uses knowledge and skills obtained through job experience to oversee software sourcing strategies/ tactics. Negotiate business terms and conditions and pricing. Collaborates with internal stakeholders resulting in best value for Client. Influences Business stakeholders for strategic sourcing practices, including competing contracts, leveraging benchmarking firms, etc. Sourcing Manager will identify and discuss contractual commercial terms and risks with the Business.

- Works with Client managers, staffing suppliers, risk management and legal to handle Master License Agreement/ Master Service Agreement/Order Forms Statement Of Work etc for Software contracts which includes the vetting process for new deals, contract amendments and renewals.

- Participates in joint meetings with internal business customers to assist in engagement prioritization, requirements development and identification of possible purchasing channels and sources.

- Communicates effectively with stakeholders on policies, processes, and updates to sourcing engagements.

- Assists internal business clients with developing and reviewing contracts, statements of work, service level agreements, deliverables, and specific contractual terms and conditions.

- Identifies and recommends potential alternative software suppliers.

- Develops and manages the execution of initiatives, including data gathering and analysis, supplier qualification, preparation of competitive bidding, evaluation of responses, developing negotiation strategies, participating in or leading supplier negotiations, reviewing, managing contracts, and preparing recommendations to internal business clients.

- Performs detailed analysis of agreements in support of the companys business operations.

- Evaluates supplier proposal pricing and may develop flexible contractual pricing models, accounting for inflation, currency, scope changes, and other areas of risk mitigation and cost control.

- Drafts contracts and recommends contract terms which minimize risk and maximize value for the firm.

- Documents results of negotiations. Prepares approval memorandum for and submits for execution approval with appropriate parties.

- Works with all Due Diligence teams and Contract Clause Owners to determine if contracts contain appropriate language.

- Captures and applies lessons learned and best practices.

- Maintains awareness of changes and advancements in sourcing, contract management, finance, and negotiating skills to implement improved methods and techniques as appropriate for their area of responsibility.

- Makes recommendations regarding evaluation, selection, development, and retention of the suppliers providing goods and services needed to conduct business.

Skills:

- Experience with ServiceNow, PeopleSoft Procurement and/or PeopleSoft Finance is a plus

- Awareness of key terms of Software Contracts. Negotiation skills required

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize

- Articulate with excellent written and verbal communication

- Sourcing (competitive bidding) and contracting principles, processes, governance, and negotiations.

- Concepts of risk management.

- Building positive working relationships with internal business clients to help them understand the value of Procurement.

- Building positive working relationships with suppliers who are best positioned to provide the company with goods and services at the lowest Total Cost of Ownership and lowest risk.

- Identifying, defining, and documenting complex business and technical requirements.

- Reviewing proposals or contracts for potential regulatory, technical, financial and legal risks.

- Personal interactions with key Business stakeholders via one-on-one and cross-functional group settings.

- Thinking critically and structuring analyses.

- Gather information, identify requirements, determine business objectives, and incorporate findings into sourcing and contract management.

- Analyze and recommend solutions for problems/challenges including modeling of business and financial impact of proposed scenarios.

- Work independently or collaboratively with others with little supervision.

- Multi-task while producing quality deliverables

- Focus on detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.

- Influence others, to achieve desired outcomes.

- Read, interpret and apply commercial and regulatory policies and information and identify and recommend changes as appropriate.

Education:

Bachelors Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business or IT, and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Software sourcing and contracts management OR Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training
