Position Summary: As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of analog and digital electronic hardware for Dover's various products. You will collaborate with various departments in a fast-paced environment to ensure your products receive the engineering support they need throughout their life cycle. You will work with cross-functional teams to enhance product yields and oversee design specifications. You will work with Quality and Reliability to resolve product issues requiring corrective actions. You will identify cost-reduction opportunities and track activities to ensure timely implementation. As needed, you will work with outside agencies to certify that product modifications stay true to the original safety requirements under the product listing. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering. Eight (8) + years of related experience. Thorough understanding and design experience in analog & digital circuit designs. Experience in Microcontroller, Microprocessor, and FPGA-based designs. Hands-on experience with DSP-based systems. Experience in the design of circuits involving ADC, Sensors, signal conditioning, etc. Decision-making skills related to component selection. Experience in EMI/EMC designs both at the circuit level and layout level. Experience in communication protocols such as UART / I2C / SPI / RS232, RS485, Ethernet IP etc. Ability to handle complex designs with minimal guidance or supervision. Understanding of the electronics manufacturing process. Analytical skills in resolving technical issues with product failures. Experience leading product safety discussions and following up through to issue resolution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs design work including fits, tolerances, fastener and joining requirements, material specifications, and development of other engineering data, with limited engineering supervision. Effectively use 3-D CAD systems to design, create, and change models and multiple-view drawings as required for parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies. Performs dimensional tolerances checks and stack-up analysis. Develops and changes bill of materials (BOMs) as required. Performs product testing as required. Assists in checking drawings and BOMs for accuracy and or ECO approval. Assists in the engineering lab as required to complete validation testing. Assists in the development of product technical manuals and sales literature. Perform and present gated design reviews with both internal staff, as well as with customers at specific times in the design lifecycle of components. Other essential duties may be assigned as required. Desired Characteristics: Schematic and layout tools (OrCAD, Altium, KiCad). Experience in using VHDL/Verilog as well as schematic (Xilinx ISE tools). Knowledge of complete electronics product life cycle, from concept to production. Assembly and C language skills. To be used to bring up boards with DSP and/or microcontroller. Use of JTAG interface for debugging. Knowledge of Python/Linux will be considered as an added advantage. Experience in using lab equipment like CRO, Power Supply, logic analyzer, thermal chamber etc. Should have excellent communication skills both Verbal and Written communication.
