The Position

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • 3+ years of paralegal experience in personal injury, construction defect, premises liability, Dram Shop, and/or commercial trucking litigation preferred
  • Ability to quickly learn proprietary software systems and databases
  • Exceptional business writing, grammar, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and a team player
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment, manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities to meet client needs
  • Proactive attitude
  • Practical and hands-on experience actively handling substantive investigation and discovery tasks
  • Knowledge of state and federal civil procedure
  • Experience in intellectual property litigation

Responsibilities

  • Create billing and medical record summaries
  • Drafting FOIA requests and subpoenas
  • Draft discovery responses and requests
  • Communicating with fact witnesses and assisting attorneys with preparing same for depositions
  • Assist with obtaining and handling document production
  • Determine, prepare, and organize materials needed for expert witness review and maintain expert file organization
  • Communicate with and conduct investigative research on expert witnesses, fact witness, and non-parties
  • Contact outside sources to retrieve information to review and analyze
  • Search and retrieve information from court-related databases as well as other online sources
  • Review, analyze and organize document productions by opposing parties, co-defendants and third-parties
  • Summarize transcripts and organize key documents
  • Prepare documents for use as exhibits and as filings in state and federal court
  • Manage documents and maintain organized case files
