Responsibilities:

To assist MCI with the maintenance of lab I medical equipment and to work closely with onsite technology team members in the support of patient and personnel safety; general working knowledge of electrical systems; working knowledge of industrial mechanical systems; familiarity with biomed systems; participate in regular meetings; ordering of supplies; repairs to lab based equipment (component replacement, filter changes, etc.); basic soldering skills; general interest and participation in training to support work needs; maintain preventative maintenance records on equipment (ex: iv pumps, scales. bp cuffs, etc.); working knowledge of computers and software use; act as primary point of contact for venders (ex: autoclave sterilizers, med gas, etc.); perform duties with patient and personnel safety as focus; coordinate service and onsite support for biomed equipment (ex: linacs, pet ct. mass spec, centrifuges, autoclaves, infusion pumps, general lab and clinical equipment, etc.); local travel to MCI clinics as needed (ex: Mobile to Fairhope); general interest in striking a good work I life balance (facility is NOT a 24/7 health center); an interest in tinkering with electronics (ex: HAM radio operator, computers, etc.); interest in working with a team mentality with a close group of friendly technology professionals; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent, completion of an approved vocational/technical training course in electrical or biomedical engineering, three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic and/or biomedical equipment.
