General Qualifications

The Recruiting Specialist must be a mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in his/her faith. He/she must be fully in accord with Carolina Creek's mission statement, and statement of beliefs; committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. He/she must be of strong moral character and integrity.

Position Objective

The Recruiting Specialist will work with Human Resources and Recruiting Coordinators to execute an effective recruiting season. They will spend a significant amount of time traveling to colleges, churches, fairs and events to network with potential applicants. The Recruiting Specialist will serve as a primary communicator of the Recruiting Team by encouraging applicants to complete their application, interviewing, and coordinating staff onboarding and arrival. They will also collaborate with Human Resources and Recruiting Coordinators to plan and implement recruiting strategies to accommodate changes in the industry hiring trends. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about fulfilling the mission of Carolina Creek by helping individuals further their spiritual walk while discipling to our guests. They must be intentional in creating a connection with potential applicants and making an effort to learn about those they meet.

Key Job Accountabilities
  • Travel to colleges, church ministries, fairs, and events to increase awareness of Carolina Creek and recruit potential staff and volunteers
  • Serve as Trip Lead on recruiting trips throughout the year
  • Assist in the planning of recruiting trips and management of the recruiting budget
  • Coordinate travel plans with organizations, lodging, flights/camp vehicles for recruiting trips
  • Initiate and maintain conversations with applicants in all stages of the application process
  • Intentional pursuit of applicants for year-round, part-time, seasonal, intern, and volunteer positions
  • Conduct interviews and filter candidates to open positions.
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Prepare materials, maintain inventory, and resource recruiters for trips
  • Provide training to interviewers and recruiters
  • Assist in the recruiting and onboarding of new staff and volunteers, and tracking of hours volunteered.
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Team and Camp Directors to plan and execute summer staff training.
  • Manage resources entrusted to him/her according to budget and work collaboratively to achieve corporate financial goals
  • Collect and monitor recruiting data to make informed decisions in recruiting planning and strategy
  • Create and maintain a social media presence as part of the recruiting strategy
  • Attend all required staff meetings and events
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the broader camp programs of Carolina Creek, including Lone Star Lights
  • Actively engage and participate in the staff community through a godly attitude, words and actions
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business, Marketing or a related field preferred by not required
  • Must have a current valid driver's license.
Work Experience
  • Previous Christian camping experience desired
  • Previous recruiting experience desired

  • Capable of focusing and accomplishing digital tasks without getting distracted
  • Must be proficient with common business software tools including, but not limited to, Google docs, sheets and file sharing, Excel, Microsoft Office products, and be able to quickly learn new software related to departmental functions
  • Proficient in both administrative work and relational roles
  • A great memory, capable of holding facts, details, and faces of potential, current, and past summer staff
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Time management and able to prioritize tasks
  • Must be flexible with an ability to adjust and problem solve in challenging situations
  • Ability to proficiently understand, speak, and write in English is required
Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in hot and humid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and ability to lift/carry anywhere from 15 to over 60 lbs. Requires operating motor vehicles in the course of their duties and significant amounts of travel. Requires the ability to hear and speak using the telephone and internet video conferencing tools. Must be able to hear and be heard from distances or in loud environments.
