Essential Job Functions Coordination of shipments by scheduling pickups and deliveries via the best transportation method ensuring timely delivery Maintain accurate records of shipments and deliveries, including tracking number, delivery times, any issues encountered Compliance and regulations ensuring all shipments comply with international and domestic regulations regarding customs, tariffs, and other trade regulations Problem-solving by addressing any logistical problem that may arise during transportation such as delays, damages, or discrepancies Cost management by optimizing transportation and logistics costs by comparing carrier rates, consolidating shipments, finding efficient routes. The Transportation Management System (TMS) is to be used for rating Risk management by identifying potential risks in the supply chain and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks by being proactive Communicate any relevant information to the customer service and the technical department regarding shipment status, tracking information, and/or resolving any issues or complaints Receive carriers and coordinate the receipt of shipments and deliveries Verification of all orders Make appointments for all carriers for pickup and delivery Manage sampling, if not done at the time of production (manage the taking of samples from rolls in the yard, packing, storage, and preparation of the sample shipments) Special order tracking (reserved rolls) Ensure all rolls are properly reserved for sales orders to ensure proper invoicing Manage inventory/shipping according to the status of the rolls (QOH, OC, QOF) (location, identification, and ensure the proper visual appearance of the rolls) Check stock availability and communicate to the CS team and/or sales Coordinator pre-shipment inspections as needed In the absence of the Logistics and Material Manager, perform all tasks related to his/her position during temporary absence Continuous improvement by actively seeking opportunities to streamline logistics processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs while maintaining service levels Other Job Functions Perform other related duties as assigned Basic Qualifications High School diploma or GED Proficient in Dynamics 365, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel a must Transportation Management System software, Mercury Gate preferred Knowledge of international trade understanding customs of imports/exports Very strong communication skills, written and verbal Problem-solving abilities Customer service oriented Adaptability to changing circumstances and multitasking Able to perform general calculation and percentage Ability to lift 50 lbs Attention to detail Capable of working in a team Eight-hour workdays - Monday – Friday.
