DEVELOPMENT AND ADVANCEMENT DIRECTOR
JOB DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Fundraising and Advancement experience are key to this role.

The full-time Development and Advancement Director reports directly to the principal and provides leadership and planning for advancement and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive institutional advancement program for the school. This position provides insight and direction for our major fundraising events, coordinates our Annual Fund Appeal, researches and applies for educational grants, and leads our efforts with planned giving. The D&AD works closely in conjunction with our Registrar and the Enrollment & Marketing committee of our Advisory School Council to support the mission and advancement of the school. All responsibilities are to be in line with the Catholic mission of the Parish and school. The responsibilities and duties of the Development and Advancement Director are an effort to provide sufficient resources to ensure the school can achieve its mission.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for setting all advancement goals and objectives that are clear and measurable, in collaboration with the Principal
Promote understanding, acceptance, and support of the mission statement and strategic plan of the school
Develops, implements, and manages planned giving program providing mechanisms for bequests, charitable trusts, and endowments
Identifies, cultivates, communicates with, and solicits major gifts prospects with local businesses seeking support for the school
Oversees the gift giving process and recognition program (generating all gift acknowledgements and maintaining documentation)
Oversees donor and alumni database management in conjunction with the school business manager
Ensures comprehensive, accurate constituent, donor and prospective donor records
Seeks and applies for grant opportunities and manages grants awarded
Collaborates with Business Manager to generate financial reports regarding gifts, grants, and pledges, and prepares annual advancement and development report
Attends monthly Advisory School Council meetings and present updates on development programs and activities
Develops fundraising policies and procedures under the direction of the diocese and ensures policies and procedures are implemented on campus
Works in collaboration with PTO board to align the work of volunteers with the school's fundraising efforts
Manages Online Giving (manages auction software for any/all events)
Designs materials for the Development section of the website
Leads AD&D presentation at orientation and EOY meetings
Produce any mailings necessary for the development department
Collaborates with principal and staff to plan the annual calendar for all fundraising events
Attends all school events and accepts other duties as assigned

Qualifications Include:
Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field
Three to five years of professional advancement experience in major gifts, campaigns or planned giving (preferably for a non-profit organization)
Experience with event planning
Ability to effectively articulate the values and mission of our Catholic school
A strong commitment to and understanding of donor recognition and stewardship
Ability to maintain clear, accurate records and prepare accurate and timely reports
Willingness and ability to travel locally
Strong leadership and collaborative skills
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Proven project management skills
Highly self-directed with an attention to detail and ability to organize effectively
Highly proficient with Google Suites, Excel, Word, Publisher, and database programs and standard office equipment
