Software Engineer I Server

Nant Games is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer I Server with a specialty in backend systems to join our game development team in the creation of mobile entertainment titles. You will work closely with our talented group of engineers and designers to build, maintain, and optimize server-side game systems for Unity-based software titles. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for game development, experience in supporting backend systems, and a solid understanding and software engineering architecture and implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Architect, design, and implement high performance server-side game logic. Develop scalable backend systems for new gameplay features and data collection. Instrument, profile, analyze, and optimize network game traffic. Ensure code quality, efficiency, reusability, and reliability. Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of best practices and continuous improvement. Create, present, and support technical design documentation. Identify and address performance issues and contribute to the bug fixing effort. All Other duties will be assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field. 3 years' experience in server development. Shipped at least one game title having engineered network-oriented solutions. Strong proficiency in languages such as Go/Java/C#/C++, SOLID principles, and design patterns. Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, performance, and multi-threaded programming. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills and debugging skills within a networked environment. Experience in database development, modeling, and access libraries for DBs such as: MS SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL. Experience designing, implementing, and utilizing Web APIs such as REST, WebSocket's or gRPC. Ability to work collaboratively on a team and communicate effectively. Self-directed, focused, and detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with the full lifecycle of product development, launch and LIVE support. Experience with Docker/Kubernetes. Experience using automated testing in game development. Proficiency in client-server networking architecture, network protocols, and peer-to-peer architectures. Passion for gaming and game development Salary range: $120,000.00 to $160,000.00

This is the pay range the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. Compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position.
