Director of Software

to join our senior management team. As the Director of Software, you will work closely with executive IT leadership in federal agencies (e.g. CIO, CTO, Chief Architect) to support their digital transformations, while leading the effort to build core competencies in software engineering and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities Thought Leadership: Collaborate with federal agency IT executives to turn business challenges into strategic visions and practical technical solutions. Provide guidance to project managers and teams on solution architecture and development methodologies. Delivery Management: Lead delivery organizations and project teams, ensuring optimal resource alignment while promoting best practices. Work with project managers to ensure resources are allocated appropriately. Core Competency Development: Develop a cross-team software development practice, cultivating core capabilities to support business growth. Lead internal R&D efforts while fostering partnerships with technology vendors. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, occasionally serving as capture manager, proposal lead, or solution architect.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. 10+ years of progressive IT experience. Strong communication skills to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to lead development teams in delivering high-quality software products and services. Subject matter expertise in emerging technologies like machine learning/AI or blockchain, as well as leading cloud computing infrastructures like AWS and Azure. Familiarity with development practices like continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), low-code/no-code development (e.g. Appian, Salesforce, ServiceNow). Must be a US Citizen eligible for security clearance.
